In 2016, District 1 had the highest number of “F” schools.
In 2016 after being elected, I placed failing schools as my first priority agenda item as a School Board Member, receiving unanimous co-sponsorship and support from my colleagues.
Push until something happens…
In 2017, District 1 has NO “F” schools.
*Carol City Middle, F to C–after 5 straight.
*North Dade Middle, F to a C after 2 straight.
*Parkview Elementary, from F to a C
*Dr. Frederica Wilson/Skyway from F to a B.
Congratulations to the principals, teachers, staff, and community stakeholders of these schools.
Also, congratulations to the Board and Superintendent for their leadership and support of this work.
