After nearly 4 decades of historic service as a lifelong educator—rising from a classroom teacher to a Superintendent of Schools—and a transformative tenure on the Miami-Dade School Board, Dr. Steve Gallon III has officially won the election for the Miami-Dade County Commission District 1 seat. Elected unopposed in June 2026, he will officially assume office in January 2027, succeeding Oliver Gilbert III.
