PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF DR. STEVE GALLON III

School Board Vice Chair Dr. Steve Gallon III recognized highly revered and renowned Professor Dr. Peter J. Cistone at the School Board meeting on December 11, 2019 for his contribution to the educational field.

Dr. Peter J. Cistone is Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at Florida International University (FIU), Miami, Florida. He has been a member of the faculty at FIU since 1982 and served as Dean of the College of Education for five years. His teaching responsibilities at FIU focus on the graduate-level professional preparation of current and aspiring educational leaders. He has been the major professor and doctoral dissertation advisor for many M-DCPS administrators, past and present.

Dr. Cistone has been very active in local community organizations and associations and has received national recognition in his academic field.
