On Monday, August 24, 2026, Commissioner-elect Dr. Steve Gallon III joined the Miami Norland Senior High School community for a morning highlighting the school’s Medical Assisting Program, established several years ago in partnership with D.A. Dorsey Technical College.

Dr. Gallon commended Principal Rhonda Gaines for her visionary leadership and continued commitment to expanding educational and career opportunities for students.

The program reflects the power of strong partnerships and career-focused education to create meaningful pathways for student success. Dr. Gallon expressed pride in supporting a legacy of expanded access and opportunity for Miami-Dade students.
