At the Miami-Dade County School Board Organization meeting held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, School Board Member Dr. Steve Gallon III was re-elected Vice Chair of the School Board. Dr. Gallon, who represents District 1, was first elected to the School Board in 2016. He was re-elected unopposed to another 4-year term in November 2020.

He is presently the Vice Chair of the Council of Urban Boards of Education and a member of the Executive Board of the Florida School Boards Association.

“I am deeply humbled and honored by my re-election as Vice Chair of a School Board and school district that has given me so much as a former student and employee,” Dr. Gallon said. “I look forward to continuing to serve in a manner that honors the trust and confidence that my colleagues have placed in me and my ability to continue to help lead on behalf of our employees, community, and more importantly, our children.”
