At the School Board meeting of January 12, 2022, School Board Vice-Chair Dr. Steve Gallon III recognized the Miami Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was founded on January 5, 1911, on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The Miami Alumni Chapter was chartered on November 23,1946 to open the doors of college fraternal life for college men everywhere, regardless of color, religion, or national origin.

Dr. Gallon recognized the group for their contributions to the community and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

“I am proud to celebrate and recognize the outstanding leadership and service of the Miami Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi and salute their unwavering commitment to ‘achievement in every field of human endeavor,’” said Dr. Gallon.
