School Board Member Dr. Steve Gallon III joined students, educators, and community partners the morning of March 19, 2026 to celebrate a major milestone in advancing educational excellence—the official ribbon cutting of the new Innovation Lab at Norland Middle School.

The ceremony marked a strong start to the day, highlighting the power of collaboration, forward-thinking investment, and a shared commitment to student success.

“We had a great start to the morning celebrating educational partnerships and innovation at the Norland Middle School Innovation Lab Ribbon Cutting Ceremony,” said Dr. Gallon. “We are truly appreciative of the support and generosity of the Orange Bowl Committee and numerous partners for their investment in our teachers and learning spaces for students.”

The newly unveiled Innovation Lab is a fully remodeled, state-of-the-art learning environment designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. The space is equipped with cutting-edge educational technology, a wide array of books, and modern resources that will provide students with enhanced access to high-quality learning opportunities.

The project reflects a continued commitment across District 1 to invest in innovative learning environments that empower both students and educators.
