At the March 21, 2018 School Board Meeting, Dr. Gallon was actively engaged in his role as a policy maker as he successfully proffered one School Board agenda item that received an unanimous vote of approval and support from the Board.

Louie Bing Athletic Scholarship Fund
Dr. Gallon had the honor to serve as Keynote Speaker for the 32nd Annual Louie Bing Jr. Scholarship Awards Recognition Dinner where he congratulated the honorees and the Louie Bing Athletic Scholarship Fund for their continued support of our students and community.
Barbara Hawkins Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Dr. Gallon attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at Barbara Hawkins Elementary as they were awarded a $10,ooo donation in technology and related equipment by Amazon in support of its STEM Initiatives.
District 1 Pastors & Principals Luncheon
On March 7, 2018, District 1 held its Pastors and Principals Luncheon at Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church. Dr. Gallon is always appreciative of the faith-based community and their sharing of time, talents, and treasures with the schools in District 1.
Barry University Nursing Students
Barry University Nursing students visited Dr. Gallon to discuss his board item regarding Exceptional Student Education and related services which was unanimously approved in September 2017. See link below:
He also discussed the importance of addressing emotional and mental health issues with the students in our schools, as well as the importance of addressing their academic needs.
i-Prep Youth-Led Protest
Dr. Gallon was proud to stand and support students in Miami and across the nation in memory of the tragedy that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and against senseless gun violence at the i-Prep Academy youth-led protest.
Walk It, Talk it: Youth-Led Conversation About Gun Violence
Dr. Gallon listened in on the youth-led conversation on the real causes and solutions to gun violence held at the Liberty Square Community Center on March 14, 2018.
Jazz in the Gardens Film, Music, Art, & Culture Youth Conference
At the Jazz in the Gardens Film, Music, Art, & Culture Youth Conference, Dr. Gallon gave words of inspiration to all the students, educators, artists, musicians, poets, filmmakers, and all in attendance that are passionate about art and culture and a desire to receive professional development and networking opportunities .
Senior Saints
It is always a great time when Dr. Gallon gets the opportunity to speak with the Senior Saints of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church about education and various issues of Miami-Dade County Public Schools and District 1.
Women’s Impact Luncheon
Dr. Gallon proudly joined a room full of powerful, intelligent, dedicated, and beautiful women at the 2018 City of Miami Gardens Women’s Impact Luncheon held at the FIU Kovens Conference Center.
PACT Nehemiah Action Agenda Meeting
Over 1500 people including Dr. Gallon stood together to address topics focused on Immigration, Affordable Housing, School Discipline, and Gun Violence at the PACT Nehemiah Action Agenda Meeting held on March 19, 2018 at the Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Church.
Student of the Month Recognition Ceremony
It was another great evening with students, administrators, principals, teachers, staff, parents, and family members as Dr. Gallon recognized the District 1 Student of the Month Awardees at Miami Norland Senior High.
